Our WordPress Community

In Asheville, one thing that’s important to most people is the sense of community and that “Go Local” spirit. It’s a huge part of why WordCamp Asheville was able to get off the ground in 2014 when businesses large and small as well as individuals decided to sponsor, volunteer, and speak at the event. In fact, so many people offer to help each year with WordCamp that we have a larger organizing team than some WordCamps double our size!

In the spirit of community, we’re offering an Open Source Supporter sponsor level of $100 this year. We want to give individuals who believe in WordPress – an open source content management system – an opportunity to offer their support.

Your ticket to WordCamp is included in the $100. So that’s lunch, a t-shirt, and two great days jammed full of sessions for $100. For $50 per day, who can beat that?

If you’re interested in becoming a Open Source Supporter, head on over to our Sponsorship Level page or go straight to our application form.

And there are always ways to contribute, even if it’s not in dollars. The only limit is the imagination – and we hope that this year’s Camp sparks some creative ideas!

Sometimes the contributions from our volunteers end up as fun surprises – like our beautiful banners last year from the design team, or the pint glasses people fell in love with in 2014.

Last year, one of our attendees, Sean, volunteered to take some video. Although it happened on short notice, he put together a wonderful video of what people learned at WordCamp and we’d like to share it with you now:
